Want to make a difference? So do the members of the TMA Resident and Fellow Section (RFS). See the Top Reasons for Residents to Join TMA and AMA (PDF).
The RFS serves as an advocate for physicians and patients through resident physician involvement in the creation of TMA policy. As a section member, you can craft policies and resolutions to shape the future of medicine. Additionally, the section serves as a communication tool for residents statewide to address unique resident issues, such as resident work hours, Physician-in-Training permits, debt management, licensing and credentialing, to name a few.
The RFS meets three times annually in conjunction with the TMA Winter Conference (January/February), TexMed (April/May), and TMA Fall Conference (September/October). All resident members are welcome to attend and participate in the meetings. Attending meetings allows you to network with colleagues, enhance your knowledge of medicine, and represent the interests of your fellow residents.
Join today and experience first-hand how residents – like yourself – have the power to make a difference in your community and your profession.

Lace Up Your Sneakers for Medicine

Join us as we roll up our sleeves, lace up our sneakers, and work in the field to elect TEXPAC-endorsed candidates. TEXPAC Alliance Volunteer Days is coming to a city near you, and we'll be calling on members of the family of medicine. Medicine faces several tight elections this season; a successful 83rd legislative session will take shape in the field in each one of these races.
Volunteering is easy and fun. TEXPAC will provide all the information you need to get started with confidence. For details, including time and location, and to register for these events, please call TEXPAC's Paula Frey at (512) 370-1361 or TMAA's Sandy Solis at (512) 370-1328.
